Fatigue and Low Energy: Why Tiredness Has Many Causes

“I’m just tired all the time” can mean a dozen different things — low physical energy, foggy concentration, low motivation, or needing far more rest than usual. Because fatigue is a symptom rather than a diagnosis, the more useful question usually isn’t “which vitamin am I missing,” but “what’s actually going on here.”

Common causes of fatigue

Short-term fatigue often follows poor sleep, travel, stress, hard workouts, dehydration, illness, or simply not eating enough. Longer-running fatigue can be tied to anemia, thyroid issues, diabetes, depression, sleep apnea, medication side effects, infection, and other conditions. No IV formula sorts through that list for you.

Where hydration and nutrition fit

Hydration is part of the picture because fluid loss can bring on headache, lightheadedness, and a foggy head. Vitamins and minerals do participate in normal energy metabolism — but loading up on extra nutrients doesn’t automatically translate into extra energy, especially for someone who isn’t actually deficient. Sleep, food, recovery, and an honest look at the underlying cause still matter most.

When to see a doctor

A short, explainable rough patch often improves with rest, regular meals, fluids, and a steadier sleep schedule. Fatigue that’s severe, unexplained, getting worse, or dragging on for weeks deserves a conversation with a medical professional — sooner if it comes with chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, new weakness, or bleeding.

At Arizona IV

For clients who are good candidates and want hydration plus a broad blend of vitamins and minerals, the Myers’ Cocktail — hydration alongside magnesium, calcium, vitamin C, and B vitamins — is worth asking about. It’s positioned here as a wellness and hydration option, not a fix for unexplained fatigue. Clients specifically curious about NAD+ can raise that separately; see our NAD+ article for what the evidence currently supports.
